Hey ya'll! I hope everyone is having a blessed Monday. A lot of my subbies tend to ask me for tips on breaking into the Machinima world and how to come up a likable series. So I came up with five tips for my aspiring machinima makers that I think are super important. Hopefully these tips will be useful for you guys!

1. Come up with good a plot that you know you’ll enjoy writing about.

If you can’t think of anything right off the bat, think about some show ideas you would like to see on TV irl. Watch some of your favorite movies and shows to get inspiration. You can even write about your own life or what you want your life to look like. The more you connect with the story, the easier it’ll be to write about it.

2. Put time into the way your characters look.

I know it sounds shallow as hell but people tend to connect more with the characters if they like the way they look. All your sims don’t have to look like models either. And make sure every sim doesn’t look the same. Take inspiration from people you know irl if you have to. Also, It’s up to you if you choose to do maxis match or alpha but just make sure your sims have a lil razzle dazzle and don’t look plain lol.

3. DEVELOP YOUR CHARACTERS!

“Character development is the process of building a unique, three-dimensional character with depth, personality, and clear motivations.”

I personally hate watching a show where the characters have no depth. Give your characters a background story, goals, hobbies, tendencies, and most importantly a personality! Even minor characters should have their own personality. Nobody wants to watch a show where the characters are unrealistically perfect and never make mistakes. If your audience is in agreement with 90% of your character’s decisions, you’re doing something wrong lol.

4. Write your dialogue AFTER you’ve developed your characters and plot. Not before.

For those who don’t know, dialogue is the conversations your characters have throughout the episode. Once you have a good plot and good characters, the dialogue will be much easier to write

5. BE PATIENT AND CONSISTENT

I did not get 11k subscribers overnight. I dropped my first machinima with zero expectations. I was just happy to upload my work. My first machinima was a sims 2 series called SoCal and I honestly wish I hadn’t deleted it so y’all could see my growth lol. My channel didn’t really start to get recognized until I dropped From ATL With Love. And even then, I felt like the influx of subscribers came out of nowhere. So please just be patient and consistent. Don’t get discouraged if your video doesn’t reach a certain number of views or likes. If this is something that you truly enjoy doing, the recognition and subscribers should only be a plus.

I hope this helps you guys out a bit! If you have any more questions, please message me or just drop them down below!

Been watching you since SoCal. Even back then I was amazed by your work! You are something new and fresh for the sims community. Your work is flawless. From the main characters to the minor... Everything is consistent. Would love for you to reupload SoCal so others could see your growth! Would you ever reboot SoCal? These tips are so useful and mean so much when they come from a creator as good as you. Would love to see more posts of Machinima help from you. Hope you had a lovely Christmas x

Wow that warms my heart lol so you saw the growth first hand😂 Unfortunately I deleted all my socal stuff. I kinda regret it now but 🤷🏽‍♀️. I probably won’t reboot it because in a way the premise of SoCal is extremely similar to HL. A lot of the ideas I had for Socal I used for HL. But thanks for your support! It means a lot that you were hear from the very beginning 💞 I hope you had a lovely Christmas as well.
