This shoot has a bit of a story...

It has been almost a decade since I worked with Lilly Rae. She has relocated overseas now and rarely visits Australia. So I was a bit surprised when she called me up for a shoot, but welcomed the chance to catch up and booked a studio.

Two days before the shoot I contacted her to make sure everything was good. "Ah, I've been meaning to contact you. I shot in that studio you booked yesterday, and it was freezing. I'm not going there again."

OK, so there was some scrambling around looking for a new venue. I found a place in the city, but it turned out that Lilly was staying further out from the city than I was. Eventually I found a place that would be a 30 minute drive for both of us, and we met there.

It was quite an unusual place. It looks like a converted chapel, and consists of one large room with a separate bathroom (no kitchen) and really high vaulted ceilings.

I wanted to see if I could give the impression of just how big the space was, and hence these wide shots.

It was a great space to use and the owner was really cooperative, so I reckon I will shoot there again.

Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E lens. Light from two Godox AD200pro flashes in 60cm soft boxes placed either side of the camera.
