Here is a little extra post to start making up for how quiet I've been last month. This is reaching deep into the archives - about 12 and a half years.

Rebecca Lawrence was an American travelling model of the time. I was going to do a studio shoot, but another photographer had booked the biggest room in one of Melbourne's poshest hotels and she said we could shoot there.

This set is the first few from the shoot, Rebecca is standing in this big fancy bay window and I am trying to capture her with the natural light coming in. There was not really enough of it - these came out underexposed and it is only modern software that let me recover them.

At this stage I was still starting out with model photography, and all in all my inexperience really shows. Lots of exposure errors, focus misses, framing misses. After these shots I introduced some flash to get a better exposure, but my lighting design sucked.

But looking through the collection I think there are still enough good shots to make a few posts, so I will start publishing those next week.

Technical: Nikon D80 (my first DSLR), NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8 lens (the "nifty fifty"). Natural light.
