Aim Stage and I met up again in the studio to make a collection of these high contract images.

Now, whenever I publish a set of these, I always get someone saying, "but I don't like black and white photos, so do all the processing work again and show me the colour versions." To which I have a couple of things to say...

This shoot, from concept to light design to studio layout to pose choice to expression was geared to this style of black and white image. Please respect my artistic choices and expand your own horizons.

An I have found a colour treatment that works with some of these photos, after the work of Australian Photographer Bill Henson. I will be applying that to a set of these and publishing them in a few weeks.

There is only one photo like the last one with the smoke, because it is a technique I have misremembered, so I only got one workable shot. Back to the drawing board!

Finally, a selection of these has already been accepted for magazine publication. I will send you all the details closer to the publishing date.

Technical: Nikon D850 with Sigma 105mm f/2.8 Macro lens. Three Godox MS300 studio flashes in Godox strip soft boxes.
