sometimes, we fall short of our goals.

sometimes we just tragically complicate what we think we are actually looking for.

simplifying is never about actually making things easier.  as a matter of fact, in many cases, taking away the comfort of the controls that you are used to commanding is the easiest way to welcome chaos and failure.  but the first thing i am going to tell you is, in order to achieve balance you have to not only expect chaos, you need to welcome it.

your goals are not to recreate the past, your goals are to improve on those memories.  to improve the way you remember them.

the scene you have created is not about missing your family, it is about creating the family you’ve always wanted.  it’s not about regret or celebration, it is only about tending to what your mind has changed this memory into.

that is the light you’re looking for.

that is what you are trying to create.

you don’t want to see it the way it actually was, you want to show everyone how beautiful it is now in your thoughts, because that re-create is now the only memory you have left.

knowing that you control how you see something and ultimately how you show those things to everyone else is the first step in sight recovery.  learning to see again is now the process.

change your viewpoint and the memory is never the same again.
