They can alter their bodies for fun.  Long ago, when they discovered humans through one of their magic doors, these little fungi people became fascinated with human genitalia. They particularly loved how the penis resembles mushrooms. They also realized how dull their own natural bodies were. So they now enjoy adorning themselves with extra body parts inspired by humanoid naughty-bits.
