What happens in year five of Bloodlines? The results are in! (Patreon)

We've tabulated the results, and it's time to share!

December's poll presented a special opportunity for Defilers and Corruptors to chime-in on where they want future Bloodlines development to focus. They received a wishlist based on comments received throughout the year and chose every statement they agreed with (even if some of those statements contradicted others).

What were the most popular responses?

Out of 71 respondents, 58 agreed that they "want to see more Bloodlines like Alison's (complete corruption in a single update)."

51 replied that "the game should focus on corrupting characters that have already been introduced."

51 said they "really enjoy the mass corruption scenes."

42 said they "prefer scenes with vampires in their final forms."

42 respondents said "there need to be multiple transformations every month."

37 also said they "want to see more new locations that were previously mentioned (i.e. the library, under the Academy, inside the church)."

What were the least popular responses?

Out of 71 respondents, only 2 said "the story should focus more on Ben."

6 replied that they "want to see humans actually die without being turned into vampires."

6 felt that "there needs to be a large hardcore scene every month."

6 agreed that "Lisa should kill her vampiress friends."

7 said they "want to see our heroes kill off some vampires soon."

9 respondents "prefer scenes with fledgling vampires."

What does this mean for future development? Since the most popular response involved fully corrupting characters in a single update, we'll see how much more of that can be done, this year. Full corruptions take a long time to produce because at least 4 character models need to be created (human, tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 AKA final form).

Mass corruption scenes also proved very popular, so we'll try to get a good number of those out. Most of you already know that these scenes are very complicated (which is why almost no other game attempts to do them), but it's also really hard to fully corrupt a character during one of these scenes, since so much of the scene moves around between the various people.

Most people also want to focus on characters who have already been introduced, rather than adding more characters to the game. I interpret this not only as a desire to see less glut in the Bloodlines menu but also more vampiresses reach their final forms.

I'll also keep the comments with middling popularity in mind, going forward. Even though only a few responses earned more than a 50% approval rate, I won't ignore the requests for things like having vampires behave more violently/monstrously, more production time spent on putting narrative/lore into updates, and filling in the gaps in the Bloodlines.
