There are all the steps taken to create the lastest commission for StormFox!
This was one of the few comms I've gotten where I've underestimated the time I spent working on it, because it took me around 10+ hours to get it done :(.
- 1- 1st Rough Sketch: This whole commission was a tough one, especially because the pose asked for was a tad weird to create, the client requested a side view, but with a looming perspective like the one found in the Looming Loup Commission.
So for starters I began with a normal sketch to figure out the posing before going to the perspective. (I used 3 different sketches with the same color to create all the parts) - 2- 2nd Rough Sketch: After going through the 1st feedback session, I made her lean more to make it look like she was messing with the stuff in it. (Again, I added 2 more layers for the clothes and the props)
- 3- 3rd Rough Sketch: Now to actually add the perspective like I was tasked to, however the perspective here was not cutting it for the client.
- 4- 4th Rough Sketch: I tried one last final revision adding a lot of perspective here, but it still wouldn't get it there, so we had to scrap this one.
- 5- 1st Sketch: Starting from scratch again, I did a new sketch completely blowing away the perspective! This one did the trick but there were a couple tweaks necessary.
- 6- 2nd Sketch: After revising the position of the character, I added two different layers in different colors for the props, the background and the lil extra character.
- 7- Final Sketch: Finally, I tweaked the sketch one more time to change the posing, and made the breasts bigger of course.
- 8- Early Lineart: After the sketch was finally complete, I started the lineart process.
- 9- Final Loup Lineart: Got all the lines corrected and added te proper details, as well as tweaking the size of the reachin arm and redrawing the hand. (made sure to make those tits tight on that bra, as per client request)
- 10- Flat colors: Added all the necessary colors to fit the character's design, and made the bikini a very nice yellow/red color!
- 11- Line colors + extras: Colored the lines for more seamless view, and added a little blush along with some shining on the eyes, to make her really look like she's really having fun.
- 12- Props lineart (+ Shaze): Started adding all the lines for the extra props directly interacting with Loup! This one was a tough one because it required a lot of referencing regarding actual gym equipment.
- 13- Props Flat colors: Added the colors to all the props, including Shaze!
- 14- Prop Color lines + Integration: Using masks, I safely erased some of the props meant to be hidden by the hands/fingers.
- 15- Final Character: Finally, I put everything together and the character is done!
- 16- Background base: Now for the bg I start with a basic sharp base to work my way up in it, of course I didn't follow the sketch entirely because it was a bit too pronounced regarding the floor
- 17- Background full bases: Added all the bases of all the props in the bg!
- 18- Bg | Shading Details 1: Using masks, and extra layers, I paint over the bases to start adding details into them.
- 19- Bg | Shading Details 2: I gradually do the same with all other bases, including the sky and the sea, I also add the fence thingy that gym's usually have
- 20- Bg | Shading Details 3 + gym bases: I add the clouds, even more details to the floor and extras, and also add the bases for the gym's stuff that is in the bg.
- 21- Bg | Shading Details 4: I add all the remaining details to everything and also the sun on the sky and extra shading to the clouds, and shadows on the palmtrees.
- 22- Fully bg + character integration: Finally, I put everything together and look at it before adding some extra final touches.
- 23- Extra visual effects: I add some glow effects and shadows where necessary.
- 24- Color correction: Finally I do some color correction to really accentuate the heat theme of the beach. And voilá, commission finished
