Thanks for all the nice birthday wishes last week! I really appreciate all of you, you're great. 😄
And hey, I did a bunch of art this month, here it is! I hope you like it!
I can only imagine demon girls have all sorts of unusual toys, so I wanted to paint her vigorously trying one out. She's having a good time! I bet he is too. 👀
Here are the download links for the rewards for illustration #119 so you can check out the process if you want:

This month I ended up wanting to do some deliberate and focused attempts at introducing more color variety in my paint strokes, particularly doing it all the way from the earliest stages of the process. So I wanted to do several character focused pieces instead of one big illustration with a full environment. That way I got to do that early stage a few times instead of just one. The character focused pieces worked well for that.
I'm really happy with the progress I made this month trying to build that habit of using color variety in my paint strokes. When I don't do that I often spend so much time trying to polish surfaces to have smooth color gradients, and I go through extra steps to make surfaces look interesting, but I feel like the strokes with more color variety help make that process a lot easier and helps get to those visually interesting results without those extra steps. I'm really enjoying it, so I'll keep at it!
I'll probably have more thoughts to share about that once I have some more practice with it. 👍
I am kind of itching to paint some characters in environments again now, so I'll try to get some of those done next. :)
Thanks for your support, everyone!
