As we searched through the cars inside the train, something separated us, by blocking the path I had taken with a big refrigerator, I’m not even gonna question how or what threw that in there, but one thing was clear, whatever it was it was hunting me, separating me from the group, after all, one was easier to pick alone than in a group.

Deciding it was best to continue with my path, I told Rebecca and Billy to keep moving forward, that we would see each other ahead, reluctantly they agreed, with that said and done, I loaded my weapon and made my way through the car, keeping an eye on the seemingly dead passengers, being fully prepared to shot them in case they moved, but not a moment after, otherwise I would be wasting ammo.

As I walked towards the next door that connected to the other car, I saw a dead man, with a small shotgun on his lap. This unknowingly made me smile as I moved toward him, the shotgun was one of the best weapons in this game, and would help me in the end of this journey. But midway I stopped, the man was breathing, fuck, using observe, I quickly noticed the man was a indeed a zombie, a rather passive one at that, not only that, but his title was different, [Leech Zombie] God, I should’ve have played this game more, the one game of the franchise I know nothing about, "I really need to find a way to toggle the observe," I sighed, shooting the zombie on the head, before grabbing the small shotgun from his lap.

“Two bullets, well that’s going to be a problem,” I hummed, putting in on my inventory while realizing something, the zombie I had shot… hadn’t given me any exp, turning my attention back to the man, I noticed he was still alive but how… a point blank shot should’ve have done the trick, had this something to do with his leech title, taking a few steps back I also took note that unlike the others, this one was particularly wet, with his face and hands glistening to the light in the as if he had just taken a bath, and to top that the man was groaning.

As I took my distance from the weird zombie, he started to raise his head, turning his face toward me exorcist style accompanied by a disgusting, wet sound, like something stepping on literal dog shit, and then his head dropped to the floor, “What…” I muttered, confused… oh no, leeches, I know remembered, at this I basically jumped back as the wet sound got louder, I knew what was coming as the decapitated body started to shake violently, as if boiling from the inside out, “I need a flamethrower,” I stated.

Weapon loaded, I watched the decapitated body move and shake, and with one last violent move the man's body split apart into various pieces that fell to the floor. When all the pieces hit the floor, they somehow disintegrated, leaving the worst type of enemy in a resident evil game, a small one.

What was left of the man turned into black leeches, big ones at that, with each one being the size of a softball ball. The little things were weak alone, but strong as a unit with rows of tiny teeth, ready to eat me alive. Or so I thought, because while I was planning how to deal with two hundred mini zombies with not enough ammunition, all individual leeches came together once more, melding into one another, the mass of abnormal, bloated things growing into a glistening tower of darkness reforming in the shape of a man that closely resembled the man they had eaten, “Why though?,” I wondered as the leech zombie finalized his disgusting fusion, and approached me, before this they had a clear advantage, they were like two hundred leeches, and no matter how good of a shot I now was, I didn’t have enough bullets nor experience to deal with all of them, “Edwad don’t question it, just go with it,” Taking a deep breath, I started to shoot at the beast with my handgun, each shot destroying a part of its creation, first the head, that didn’t kill the zombie, so I went for the legs, eventually killing the amalgamation.

[Leech Zombie Killed]

No shit, “They are going to be expensive, bullet wise,” I sighed, keeping an eye around, in case one of them decided to munch on me, “Fire would certainly deal with them easily, then again fire deals with most things easily,”

“Hey merc, do you copy me?” I heard Billy said through what I assumed was a radio, “Some of the passengers have radios, just follow the sound of my voice pal,”

Easy enough, I found the radio under one of the seats, “Hello,”

“Still alive, great,” Billy said, and he sounded quite honest about that, “Any updates on the situation?”

“New type of zombie,” I replied, holding the radio tight, “It’s… hard to explain,”

“You mean leech boy?” Billy chuckled.

“Yep, slow but they take a lot of bullets to go down,” I chuckled.

“I know,” Rebecca muttered, “They almost ate me, anyway… I have an idea,”

“Shoot me,” I replied.

“Well, it’s clear we can’t regroup with the door closed, so I think it’s best if we stop the train,” Rebecca brought a good point, if we stopped this hellish ride we would be able to regroup, “The conductor room is closed, we need a key, so for now we need to find it, you can search that side while we search this side, then we stop the train,” she sounded unsure, scared, but determined to do as she said.

“Good idea, if I find the key, I will do a James Bond, and break a window climb to the top of the train and get back with you guys,” I chuckled.

“Don’t die on us,” Billy snorted.

“Can’t die, not yet,” I refused to die here, on a train of all things...

I read your Resident evil story today and I really like it thoughI have seen that the MC has no incentive to stay with the characters he is with which I would like to add a sugestion for you if you decide to continue with it and that is a quest system (not OP version) so he has a reason to stay like giving him an ID or bullets or perhaps a summon or virus sirum.

Really hope you start working on RE again. It's hard to find good RE books
