Rachel and I have spoken often about returning once more to Wyoming and giving it another go. Not that this first trip with one another was bad by any means, simply because there was so much to do and so many beautiful places to see that we barely even dipped out toes into what Jackson/Grand Teton had in store for us.

This hike was one of the last ones we took before the trip came to a close. Kylea was a couple days passed her injury, seemed to be in higher spirits and moving around a lot more freely. Of course, Bucket was just fine and dandy. I guess that is a simple comparison to old versus young. We found this beautiful river that we were driving a long to a completely different spot that we were going to check out, but this area just quickly caught our interest. Right along side the primitive road that we were driving down was a beautiful blue and green river with white water rapids and pine trees surrounding it all. Realistically, we could not have asked for a better 'easter egg' to come across in this back forests.

When we pulled off the main road, there was a small parking area with a car width trail that tucked around the corner. Before we started to drive down, we parked and surveyed the area and road to see if it was feasible; it was not. One, the dirt road was a little to steep (thinking about the drive back up) and what was also a strong determining road block was well... an actual road block. The forestry service had set up bollards to block the car-width road so that only foot steps could bring you down to the river. We parked out cars, grabbed our things, called our dogs and began the hike.

Next to the river was a beautiful natural rock quarry tucked in between the trees and the edge of the water, we honestly did not even know that it was there from standing in the parking area. Nonetheless, we decided to stop and shoot a few images in this beautiful space before heading down to the river. Enjoy!
