For the first time in a long time I shot outside of my studio. It just so helped that it was with one of my favorite ladies that I regularly work with, Christina. We do not chat often, but it is one of those friendship that you always pick up where you left off no matter how much time goes by in between chats. Randomly one day she asked me if we could work together again soon and we ended up setting up this very day. Christina let me know that her boss invited her to shoot at her home, which when she told me that, knowing Christina, it was a beautiful space. I was not able to see photos of it before the shoot, but I had trust in her great interior decorating skills that the space would be beautiful. Man, was I pleasantly surprised at how stunning it actually was.

We got together the day before my birthday and as I walked into her bosses' house I was greeted with a warm welcome, a hug from Christina and a couple small barks from a little chihuahua mix. I cannot remember the little guy's name for the faintest, but he typically does not take well to unknown male energy. I crouched down to make myself more his size and softly said hello until he approached to smell me. I do not know if it was just me or if it was the scent of Kylea on me, but he immediately warmed up to me and we were pals for the entire time Christina and I were shooting forever wanting to be by my side.

As I broke out my gear, sipped on my coffee and chatted with the home owner, Christina laid out the pieces she had brought to shoot in and we started to mow over what to shoot where. Of course, for the backyard, we chose a swim suit and out of the many she brought we landed on this one. With the slight overcast, her skin tone and the contrast with the blues of the pool we knew it was going to be a good fit.

It took me a little while to get into the groove of things seeing as this was my first time working outside of my studio in a long while. I felt like Ricky Bobby from 'Talladega Nights', not really sure what exactly to do with my hands at first. However, like they say, it's like riding a bike. After a few minutes I got back into the swing of things and began to quickly move around in my normal manner of shooting. Picking up one camera after another, working through the several formats that I typically shoot and having a great amount of fun along the way.

Christina had oiled up before we began shooting which created this beautiful glow on her skin. Coupled with the diffused light, I was in heaven. I have always loved working with Christina and this shoot was no different. Every time we get together she has more tattoos, different hair style and it makes me excited every time we get to work with one another. Enjoy!
