Last minute get togethers seem to be the tone to our friendship but hey, I cannot say that I can complain. I love seeing friends in the spur of the moment, especially when they live hundreds of miles away.

On Saturday morning I was going through my normal routine of taking Kylea on a walk, making coffee and enjoying some soft piano echoing through my studio. What felt like was going to be a normal day off drastically changed at around 8:40A.M. when I got a text from this lady that her and Alex had been kicked out of their Airbnb due to the fact that the host should not have actually had the property on Airbnb. They were albe to stay the one night in the space, but that was it. Being right around the corner, they of course messaged me for a place to lay their heads while in Los Angeles and I, of course, said absolutely. One of my favorite things to do is host friends while they are in town.

When the power couple first arrived we greeted one another with a delightful smile and a warm hug. Within the next few minutes I said to her "Quick, take your shirt off before the light goes away." and that is how these Polaroids were born. Five minutes later we were on our way to one of my favorite brunch spots, but for dinner. Ivanhoe just outside of Atwater Village was the destination and what was on the menu for all three of us was a crispy onion burger, add bacon with fries on the side. I got truffle waffle fries, she got garlic fries and Alex got sweet potato fries. It was my first time going out to eat in over a year and I can say that it felt weird but it felt good; really good. As most of you know I absolutely adore the opportunity to enjoy a meal and a drink with a friend and connect over conversation and laughter. For the first time in what feels like ages I was able to do that and it felt like a piece of my soul had come back to me. Enjoy!

These were shot on Polaroid Circle Frame Edition 600 Type Color film with a Polaroid SLR680.
