This day was a beautiful and inspiring day.

Anna and I started this day off by shooting at FD Studios in Downtown Los Angeles in the 'rain room'. It was the first time I had really picked up a camera in 2019. I had lost my muse earlier in the year and it was hard for me to find inspiration and even a minute amount of motivation to create. Thankfully, Anna helped me rediscover my creative visions. After our hour long stint in FD Studios we packed up the car and headed south towards the ocean. There was one specific spot we were headed to and it was the perfect day to do so. A little overcast, chilly for an August and a potential of rain. This is prime when planning to shoot nudes in what would normally be a packed area.

After a quick stop by a grocery store for some snacks and of course a tall boy beer, we were in the final stretch to our destination. This location is not difficult to get to, but it certainly is not a walk in the park so to speak. It is at the far end of a half mile stretch of beach which you can only access by either using a rope knotted every couple feet to scale down a cliff or starting at the opposite end and making the trek across. Even then, the beach is not a normal one to say the least. Instead of being greeted by soft sands and smooth lands, you are tasked with hoping from rock to rock across the entire beach. A rolled ankle is a normal occurrence at this location and since I had all of my gear with me including the Polaroid 600SE in my hands, we decided to take the long way. Thankfully, no ankles were rolled in the making of these images and memories.

As we arrived at the far end of the beach Anna and I set our things down and began to plan out where we were going to shoot. I picked up my digital and began framing some shots. I had not been here in some time, so I forgot how beautiful and other-worldly the textures of these rocks were. A perfect little nook which I had Anna nestle her body into and we quickly got to work.

A brief shoot for a few reasons. First and foremost, soon after we began there were others approaching down the stretch of beach towards our location. Coupled with the high winds and cold temperatures, we captured a few key shots, Anna put her clothes back on and with a success we cracked our beers and cheers-ed to creating. We sat there for several moments as we stared off into the ocean with smiles on our faces and love for one another in our hearts. It is truly amazing how easily it is to find your creative drive with your best friend at your side. Enjoy!
