For awhile now I have been contemplating how to really change how I would sell prints. I started off just as almost every person does; pick a few photos you really like, print about five to ten of them per photo, open up an online shop and see how it goes. Surprisingly, there was a fairly great response. I will not disclose how much I actually made from selling photographs last year, but it was a decently substantial amount when you think about what it really is that I am selling.

Now I am about a year after I started selling my prints and I have a different outlook on it. When an item is mass produced it loses a certain type of value. To the consumer and also to the creator. Take The Mona Lisa for example; there have been millions of copies made that sell for maybe twenty to fifty dollars depending on the size. Think about the difference in feeling it would be to just own a copy of The Mona Lisa, compared to possessing the real, one and only painting. That surreal feeling of owning something so limited is what I am trying to accomplish for my supporters and fans.

I decided to start this new endeavor with one of my favorite photographs of a person I have taken to date.  If someone were to ask me why I like this photo so much, it would be very hard to give a swift precise answer. Sitting here now I think that the combination of the colors in the background and Reed's extremely unique tan lines is what puts this photo at the top for me. Based on social media reaction when I first posted the photo, I would say everyone agrees as well.

This photo is printed on a solid piece of 12"x18" aluminum. It has a wall mount placed on the back of the photo that floats the image a half inch off the wall, creating an extremely unique hanging effect. Since the photograph is printed on metal, it is weather proof and fade proof. This is a one of a kind piece of art simply because I will not be printing it ever again on any medium. Knowing that I will never release another copy of this photo even to myself, it makes it very difficult to part ways with it. With that said, I would prefer for one of you to own it and have that immense feeling of owning something extremely limited, so I am overly excited for whoever ends up being able to hang it on their wall.

I have attached a dropbox link with a couple photos from different angles, so you have the opportunity to see how great this looks floating on a wall.

A look into the future:

This is how I will be distributing hard copies of my work for now on. One, maybe two prints per photo, sometimes on paper, sometimes on metal, or maybe even on some other mediums that I have not explored yet.

However, one thing will not change. Whether funds are earned from print sales or through your support on Patreon; all of it will go right back into purchasing new equipment or paying for travel expenses to keep shooting in new places with new people and continue providing all of my supporters and fans with more content to view and enjoy.

Once again, thank you for your continued support in which ever way you provide it.
