The first look, the first shutter clicks and the first encounter with Reed in over a years time.

For some time, Reed and I kept our distance from one another. After years of being together as partners in all things life, it seemed like the only option. Now, we have never fully exited the other's life. That, I think will never be possible. Over the years of being together we developed so many friendships with endless creatives and people met along the way. People that we are both still friends with to this day. Animosity does not exist between us and instead we look at the past as what it is, the past.

Reed and I reconnected a little during the thick of quarantine, granted. In times like that, you look to lean on people whom know you the best and that is where the beginning of this day truly began. We caught up via text, shared some stories and praised one anther's recent works. I, of course, sent her endless photos and videos of Kylea and along side a little reminisce of past travels and memories from over the years. During these catch ups we decided that both Reed and I were comfortable with meeting up and shooting once more, for old times sake.

I told Reed to arrive at my studio at 12:15P.M. to begin shooting by 12:30P.M. Since I have spent the last almost year analyzing the light in my studio, how it works and the times it is at it's best; I knew this is the time we had to start. With an early arrival, we took our time setting up. As I moved my studio around to get ready to shoot, we caught up some more, laughed and reconnected. It was a strange feeling to have. Sharing a story and knowing exactly what was going through the other's mind; strange, but comforting in a sense. I can remember hearing her chuckle for the first time this day. It warmed my soul to have someone who truly knows me in my presence..

With the grey seamless rolled down, the v flat set up and a single apple box set in the center, Reed sat down and began to pose. As I shoot Jeans, I want the model to pose how they want only with small tweaks from my perspective. A head tilt here, a leg shift there; I want this series to show the models posing as they feel the most beautiful. Of course, Reed killed it Working with her over the years I never ceased to be astonished by her modeling and to this day I still am in awe. A perfect first look with flawless poses for the first time in what felt like an eternity. Enjoy.
