The coolest vibe in the space.

When Reed and I were on our staycation with Derek and Julie Woods, we stayed in a beautiful Airbnb in Joshua Tree, California. There were so many different styles to this space in every different room. The master bedroom was very BoHo, the kitchen retro and this side bedroom screamed 1980's rock. With a record player, a massive collection of vinyl and a lot of art books.

Reed and I timed it right for the best light to shoot in this room, although the sun was not too giving in this room. Shooting anywhere from a ISO 320 all the way up to a 800. I normally like to shoot no higher than 400, but the mixture of the dark walls, rolling clouds and north facing windows, we were not spoiled with beautiful pouring light. We made it work with what we had!

Even in September, Joshua Tree can be very warm and this day was no exception. With the only air conditioning unit in the master bedroom that we already had blasting, it was not able to reach the entire house and this room was one of the spots that was warmer than the rest. We had to shoot quick because it was so uncomfortably warm in this room that neither of us wanted to begin sweating or becoming fatigued. Even with the little movements we were making, the heat was getting to us so we wrapped up quickly after nailing several killer shots. Enjoy!
