I posted this on Instagram a couple days ago with my full process of how I get these exposures. I will share that same caption with you here today. The only difference, you guys and gals get to see the uncensored version!

"Shooting with my Polaroid Land Automatic 100 is definitely the most extensive but enjoyable process I have. First I have to set up the camera on a tripod since the shutter speed is so low and a blurry photo from camera shake is very real. Next comes framing, making sure that each exposure is perfectly framed and the right elements are in the shot. After that is focus, rangefinder style. Recently my Land has had a sticky focus slide so it takes some time and I want to make sure each shot is perfectly in focus. Next step; reensure my framing is what I want for the shot. Last is adjusting my light on the light ring around the lens. It takes some getting used to eyeing it. There are no numeric shutter speeds on the camera, simply ‘lighten’ or ‘darken’. After all of those steps are said and done, I press the shutter button, reset the shutter and pull the film from the camera to wait anywhere from 60-220 seconds for the chemicals to process the print from the negative, depending on the air temperature/temperature of the film inside the camera. After that waiting period, I can finally peel the print from the negative and view the results. All of this happens while I have the model hold a pose until that shutter is released. Sometimes, they come out a little under or over exposed, like this exposure, but that’s the beauty of the camera."

This exposure of Reed was shot on Fujifilm FP-100C Color Professional Film with a Polaroid Land Automatic 100. This exposure is available for purchase, if you would like to call it your own. Please just send me a message directly here on Patreon!
