I've hit a milestone with the Morrigan model!  With plenty of help from Rigid3D along the way, she's ready at a basic level of functionality.

Clothed 

Nude 

That is to say, I've successfully swapped her head to a nude model. I've fixed the weighting around the neck. I've matched the textures and blended them together. I've matched and blended the maps for her material shaders too. I've added her clothing, fixed it to shape the body, and created some masks to prevent clipping. She has all of her original face bones, so she is entirely usable.

She still needs shapekeys for her face before she is ready for any larger projects, but the model is complete enough that I can use her for posters and short animations.

Although it was a slow and often frustrating process, I understand Blender a little more now.  More importantly, this experience means I can do the same with other models. Doing another character like this should only take a matter of days rather than weeks.

I'm pretty hot for Dragon Age right now, so I'm looking forward to doing more.
