It’s a big week at Raging Swan Press this week. Finally, the slightly delayed 5e edition of the Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands is ready for you! I’m delighted with how the adventure came out and I hope you similarly enjoy it. (Check out the new art [I almost did a “picture” cover] by Matt Morrow and the new maps by Tommi Salama).

As I write this, work continues apace on the 1st edition Pathfinder version of the adventure. Essentially, the first draft of the adventure is complete and I await only the stat blocks for four new NPCs. Once I have them, I’ll start proofing. I’m hopeful for a June release date (which would be nice as that’s my birthday month!)

About the Shadowed Keep

Hidden deep in the borderland forest, bandits lurk in the ruined castle of a long-dead border lord. Their incessant raids draw a band of neophyte heroes to the derelict keep. There they discover fouler, more odious dangers lurk below the ruins.

Dare you brave the terrors of the Shadowed Keep to crush that which lurks within or will darkness shroud the surrounding lands?

Where's My Stuff?

As always, by the time you get this all patrons at the $5 and up levels should have a message from me containing the special secret download codes for this week's book. This week that includes discounted print codes as well. Just drop them into your browser and you should be good to go. If you have any problems, drop me a line and I'll sort it out for you.

In regards the print codes you’ll find two in the above message. One is for the standard print version (either at cost or a 50% discount depending on your level of support). I’ve also included an “at cost” code for the deluxe printed edition. I can’t do a 50% discount code because the print costs are way higher than 50% of the sell price. Nice paper costs more than I thought!

Where are the Maps?

Normally, I’d upload the maps for the adventure to this post, but—as you can imagine—the files are quite large. So instead, I’ve created a free download at the Raging Swan Press store. Here’s a direct link:

The Gameatory

This week on the Gameatory, I introduce an important figure from Ashlar’s past—the so-called Bloodstained Prince. Things also go from bad to worse for the heroes in Dark Adventures and I introduce a new adventure hook for you.

Thank You

I hope you enjoy the Shadowed Keep. I think the new maps and art by Tommi Salama and Matt Morrow are fantastic. If you aren’t playing 5e, I also hope you can convert the adventure without too much trouble.

Thank you for helping Raging Swan Press survive Covid and its attendant unpleasantness. We are still standing because of you.

Have a fantastic weekend, and remember: Everything is Better with Tentacles! Particularly ruined keeps on the borderland…
