It's back--Dungeon Dressing!

As I revealed earlier this month, I've been plotting the return of the Dungeon Dressing line for over a year and I'm delighted to finally be able to start sending out the instalments of the reincarnated, reborn line.

We kick off with Dungeon Dressing: Names & Legends. Although you'll soon have the download codes for the Pathfinder, 5e and OSR versions of this book you'll discover two things very quickly:

1. There is no Pathfinder Second Edition version.

2. These books are effectively mechanic free.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to release the Pathfinder Second Edition version of this book yet as 2nd edition does not launch until August 1. When it does, I'll post the links here.

You might wonder what's the point of these various edition given they are essentially mechanic-free. The answer is simple--I didn't want the thumbnails in your Windows Explorer or Finder to be marred by an out of place cover. That would be just utter madness. And unless tentacles are involved, it's always best to avoid madness, if possible. Fear not, subsequent releases in the line will be stuffed full of mechanics (and perhaps the occasional tentacle).

Some tentacles...

Where's My Stuff?

As always, by the time you get this you should have a message from me containing the special secret download codes for these books. Just drop them into your browser and you should be good to go. If you have any problems, just drop me a line and I'll sort it out for you.

Thank You!

Every week, I say thank you for your epic support and this week's it's particularly true as you are enabling me to return to one of my first (gaming) loves--Dungeon Dressing! I hope you find the instalments in this line useful and that they enhance your dungeons and campaigns.

In other marvellous news, we have a herd of new members to welcome this week. Welcome, Frank D, Brett Smendziuk, Liam Butler, Mike Morine, Marie Bayer, S Barrie, Pat Doherty, Gary Whitten, Michael Buell, Diederik van Arkel and Rob Smith who have all succumbed to the siren-call of our GM's Resources.

The Dungeon Dressing Poll

A week ago or so, I asked you how you wanted me to handle the Dungeon Dressing line. You spoke and I've listened.

First of all, the 20 Things line is going nowhere; retiring the line was the least favourite option in the poll by a wide margin and so the line lives to fight (and dress) another day.

The poll's winning option was to introduce another paid for supplement each month, bringing the total to four paid releases. This won't be happening immediately as I'll be beating the new release schedule into shape over the next few weeks. I'll also give at least a month's notice of the change; don't forget if you don't want to pay for four monthly releases, you can cap your support (but still get the extra release). More on this closer to the time.

Finally...

Have a great weekend, and good luck with your games!

And remember, Everything is Better with Tentacles.

Which OSR system will you base future mechanical bits on?

2023-01-01 05:33:56 I cleave most closely to AD&D 1st edition. While it’s not perfect, that’s the game of my youth. To me OSRIC seems the closest so that’s what I use as my base line!

Sounds good. That's good to know – definitely a classic. Thanks for the response.
