This week, I'm delighted to hurl at you version 2.0 of Village Backdrop: Aubade by Jacob W. Michaels. Aubade was originally published back in 2015, and at the time I thought it was an awesome village. I recently asked Michael to update and expand his original work so I could release 5e and System Neutral versions of the village (along with an updated Pathfinder version).

I think Aubade is a cracking village and I know your players will long-remember their visit.

About Village Backdrop: Aubade

Laid low by a witch's curse, life in the once-prosperous village of Aubade is lived in reverse. At dawn, the streets empty, residents remaining hidden inside during the daylight hours avoiding the sun’s caress. At night, lamps lining the village's cobblestone streets blaze to life, and the residents emerge to tend their fields and cast their nets into the lake as best they can.

While the village was once a centre of piety that drew the faithful from miles around to hear the beautiful dawn descants of the children's choir, now no one comes to Aubade. Whispers of vampires swirl around the remote region and dissuade frighten travellers from stopping at the village, where residents equally dread visitors will discover their shameful secret.

Where's My Stuff?

As always, by the time you get this you should have a message from me containing the special secret download codes for these books (remember you get the Pathfinder, 5e and System Neutral editions of Aubade). Just drop them into your browser and you should be good to go. If you have any problems, just drop me a line and I'll sort it out for you.

I've also uploaded Aubade's maps with this post; you should be able to download them directly here.

AMA

I've been experimenting with a couple of new lines and supplements this week and so I'm slightly behind on producing the upcoming AMA. I'm hoping now to get it out to you early next week and I'm sorry for the slight delay.

In completely unrelated news, I've received several requests and questions about the Ashlarian pantheon. I've spent much of today pulling together all the deities scattered throughout our various books and roughing out the details of a few as yet unrevealed powers. I'm hoping to get the pantheon book--tentative title Deities & Demons--released in May.

Thank You!

As always, thank you for your awesome support. You are enabling us to write the kind of dressing supplements and the like to make better games and campaigns for all our players. Thank you. I love what I do, and you are all huge part of that.

I'd also like to welcome our new members, who have joined us this week. Welcome--Radosław Grzanka, Ignacio Rodriguez Chaves, Berislav Lopac, Josh Hardgrave, Alex Flippo, Thomas A Carpenter Jr, George Y and HB; I hope you all enjoy being part of the Patreon campaign.

Have a cracking weekend, and good luck with your game!
