IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT (Patreon)

Regarding Recent Events:

For the past while, it’s been very difficult for me to be creative, when the US authorities have been incredibly violent and cruel towards protesters and non-fascist media. (And yes, I’m aware similar things are happening around the world.) 

In addition to making me angry and sad for the victims, it’s been disheartening to see Trump supporters demanding the protesters and reporters be massacred, and cheering every time a journalist loses an eye to a rubber bullet. Now that Anti-fascists are going to be declared terrorists, they are very excited to see them die.

Aside from making a modest donation and not looking away, there is little I can do on my end.

One big reason why I’m struggling to be productive is the knowledge that there are people like that in my audience. There have been a few incidents recently that have made that very clear to me, and I don’t think I can ignore it any longer.

I’ve given this a lot of thought, and I think there is only one way for me to regain at least a little motivation to be creative. I have to remove the fascists from my audience. 

I honestly don’t know how many of you this will apply to.

(Note: If you are a supporter of Alternative für Deutchland, Front national, Jobbik, Fidesz, PiS, Putin, Forum voor Democratie, Partij Voor de Vrijheid, BNP, etc, the same applies to you. Get out.)

I don’t want the money of people who want to massacre unarmed protesters or journalists. I don’t want to hear about how they ‘had it coming’ or how any media to the left of Goebbels is ‘fake news’. We crossed the point of ‘it’s just a difference of opinion’ long ago, and now we are entering ‘cheering for mass murder’ territory. Go away and never speak to me again.

I understand that this may destroy my business. It took many years of hard work to build up this small niche audience so I could do this for a living.

But I don’t want to perform for bloodthirsty fascists. It isn’t worth it.

In order not to start a hundred arguments, my discord channel will be closed immediately. Please do not comment to this post, I am not looking to engage right now. Additionally, under no circumstances should anyone harass former or current patrons or fans (either on this site or elsewhere). I don’t want arguments, I just want fascists out. Even if it costs me my livelihood 

To everyone else: I apologize for how heavy-handed and disruptive this must all be, especially shutting down the Discord server. But, this is the only way I can square my values with the current situation.
