here's a thing! i don't know what i'm doing musically right now, aside from my current concept album project which isn't really something that happens track by track.

if y'all have any fun ideas, leave 'em below and i'll scout through em over the next however long. next week i'll be spending a lot of time mailing out packages for the current batch of work, but i'm hoping to get back in the swing of things soon.

i feel like maybe i'm expecting myself to turn out a bit too much stuff considering how into my work i get when i am working at this point. what do you think? is there anything i could do to make this more worth it for y'all, or are you satisfied with me exploring things and releasing things publicly / posting WIPs when they happen? i tend to beat myself up a bit over the $10 tier and hoping deeply that people are happy to support that way.

I'm satisfied with things the way they are. I think it's pretty cool that we get to hear stuff as it happens. The 15% discount code is also a really cool and unexpected bonus. I don't give you $10 because I expect you to churn out stuff constantly trying to appease, but because I really enjoy your work and love supporting it.

I've been enjoying your WIPs and have always been glad for my decision to support you. Your personal investment toward your work has been stellar to watch, and the resources and bonuses posted here have been really cool. There's no need to stress out or spread yourself too thin. If you're polling for small maybe fun ideas to try, how about an electronic dance track that builds off a hardtechno beat but goes into a weird ambient/melodic direction? Just throwing something out there.

Right now I´m happy with this tier. For me, the main point for chosing it, was to support you

Regarding the $10 tier, you could try doing little mini videos about how you produce, techniques, etc. Of course we have the production streams, but they're temporary. These videos, however, would be permanent. At least for me, they would be really helpful for music production. Although, I'm not entirely sure if there are any other producers here that would benefit from that. In terms of what to do, I honestly would have no idea. You've already explored most of the ideas I can think of. The only thing I can suggest would be to go WAY out your comfort zone in terms of music. I don't know, try folk metal. Emulate the styles and techniques in other music, perhaps you'll find something you like. Perhaps there you can get past your creativity block. If that is what it is.

in terms of fun ideas, there was that bandetto wip for the $10 tier you posted a while back; maybe go at it from a new angle? some kitcaliber would be cool to see as well. this might be far out in terms of merch ideas and ideas in general, but a halley / lapfox art book. if not physical, then maybe a digital one? idk seconding katu, production tutorial videos would be cool to see, but i say keep doing what you're doing ♥

lapfox

videos like that are kinda of a no-go since my habits and stuff are randomly changing and my sound work is all "explore until something happens", which is why the production streams work out best

That patreon EP that you were teasing would be nice

if you're referring to the FIAB one, that was released a while back. they mentioned a long time ago of possibly doing a bandetto patreon-exclusive ep and pressing it physically by comboing it with the aforementioned FIAB ep

Anonymous

The physical one yeah, although stocking it might be a hassle as making less then the total amount of patreons could disappoint some and making too much leave him with stock they can't really sell.

I have never regretted donating at this tier. I love your work, and want you to be able to create without worrying as much about money-related life stuff. As for a suggestion - I really like when you put a new spin on music from games I have played and loved. Have you heard the soundtrack of Terraria at all? It's got some real gems. I would flip the hell out with happiness if you played with elements from that game like you have for Metroid and Mario 3.

almost all physicals have less copies pressed then the amount of patrons there are (90 each for it's murder and because maybe, 50 for hyi and future bullshit), so no need to worry about that. i'd imagine it working as the same deal as FUCKDEST or the tweesee crates, with a very limited amount going out the patrons and then any leftovers (if there are any) going to bandcamp

I like the contrast between theses distorted kicks and that cute lead.

I am here to support you as an artist 100%. That being said, I think maybe more graphic work in progress stuff would be really awesome! and probably easy to show, too.

Hey! Sorry, been lurking for a while. As someone new to this community, I've been really satisfied with seeing your WIPs and experimenting with new and different sounds. I do also like the idea of more graphic works in progress being released though. I love the art that goes with your music. Your music is something I listen to everyday, and I'm satisfied enough by just supporting you as you continue creating.

im a simple man, i just want drum and bass/jungle /moombahcore

Anonymous

Vapor Wave, or since Vapor Wave is dead do Hard Vapor. You could make a character for this new genre and make it a sloth or a panda.

lapfox

as funny as the alias idea is, i don't like either of these genres haha

Anonymous

Ah, have you done proper terrorcore?

lapfox

define proper? i don't like doing "'proper" genres since it's just making something within specific confines, which is the polar opposite of how i create

Anonymous

Well i was proposing something along those lines. But it might be a bad idea since you're known for fast intense stuff.
