Hello everyone, just a quick update.

So, as you may know this month marked the release for Blender 4.0, the latest version of the software most animators use now days to make our content. I make this post for those of you that enjoy using my models, for the time being All my models require a few update to work properly.

One of them is updating the rig add-on I use for my models. Rig Tools

Rig tools is the free add on version of the paid Add-on named Auto-Rig Pro shared by the devs themselves for animators to use the rig without needing to buy the full version of the add-on. ARP is the rig I use for my models, if you have that full version of the add-on, you do not require this version for the rigs to work properly. Regardless, for Blender 4.0 you will require to update the add-on no matter what. So for now I will leave a link to the latest version of Rig-tools, that way you can at least run the models in Blender without the rig being broken. Once you install the latest version of Rig Tools, my models will be fully functional, what will be left to update will be the MustardUI functions.

Speaking of MustardUI

Mustard the developer of the UI I use for all my models has decided to move forward and make the UI a full Add-on instead of just a script. Mustard explained to me the reasoning behind this decisions as:

  • "installing scripts is more dangerous, as you can simply change some lines and start uploading stuffs from one PC to another without the user knowing (as they accept script running)."
  • blender devs advising "to update to an Add-on due to the security problems above and for efficiency reasons"
  • Mustard getting an insane amount of messages about people asking how to install the script as an add-on. (Oh I know that feeling)
  • no more version clashing when two characters are in the same scene (huge problem when they were using outdated scripts)
  • You only need to install it ONCE and never worrying about models working again (the UI will include "click to update" functions soon).

So moving forward, for you to be able to get the best out of my models, you will need to install Mustard's UI script as a full add-on

Where to download Mustard's User Interface Menu add-on?

You can download it from Mustard's UI dedicated github:

https://github.com/Mustard2/MustardUI

Or from Open3Dlab:

https://open3dlab.com/project/36314/

How to install add-ons?

Open blender. Click on Edit>Preferences: Select the "Add-ons" tab, click on "Install" and select the Zip File containing the add-on.

Going forward, I will move to Blender 4.0 very soon. This means all my models and updates will be for Blender 4.0 only (won't work for earlier versions due to some API changes blender made with the update).

Blender 4.0 has better render times too, once most add-ons are functional for this version (which most already are) there's no reason to keep using older versions.

The models I'm working on right now for Blender 4.0 are:

Clone Troopers Pack

Male Models pack update

Asuka Langley

Scarlet (FFVII)

Tifa Update

Aerith Update

Padme Amidala

Asuka Kazama Update

Ashley Graham Update

Lili Update

Nina Williams

Ling Xiaoyu

After these are done I'll make a poll for the next models I'll make.

If you want me to prioritize a model update for Blender 4.0 that I haven't mentioned here, just let me know in the comments or by DM :)

Any update on Dakota Kai and Rhea models?

mokujinh

Dakota is technically done but with minimal outfits, shall I just release the naked model? Or would you rather (as someone who plans to use it I assume) wait for me to finish adding all the outfits and stuff?
