My friends, the truck is finished, and I must say it was an interesting experience. Fun at times, but also frustrating. The build, the handling during painting (it's much different than a tank), subtler weathering, having to paint the interior mid-build, masking of the windows, etc. led to an interesting experience.

After finishing the model, my thoughts were "this ain't my cup of tea". I mean, don't get me wrong. Softskin vehicles have their specific charm (and they can still look badass just like a tank does!) but they're very different. I'd almost call them a different discipline of modelling. It's no surprise that model shows often split armor into tracked and wheeled categories - but even then, a wheeled APC is a completely different beast than a military truck.

Maybe it was also caused by the fact that I approached this model as a part of the upcoming diorama (as the title suggests), and not as a standalone model that becomes a centerpiece of the scene.

Also, on a different note, I'm almost done with my hallway remodeling, which has been taking away most of my energy. I'm about to lay down new floors over the weekend, and then it's just about swapping new doors and some finishing touches that can be done in spare time. In ideal conditions (read: when I'm not walking on dusty linoleum), I'd work extra hard to get the full video ready as early release over the weekend, but this way I'll be able to get to it at the start of the next week. But this won't be the case for much longer and I'll be again able to invest all my energy into modelling and making videos!
