My friends, the most time consuming task is done, and now it's all the details, tracks and wheels that have to be painted!

When we think about it, this tank survived in active service until 1943, a true veteran! Did it get repainted at some point, maybe when it received the additional armor package? Probably... But that doesn't mean I can't use it as an excuse to keep the chipping the way I like it :D

I tried to keep the rust effects restrained around the white wash. It's easy to overwhelm the winter camouflage because any effect you apply over a white base coat will be extremely visible. Who knows, maybe it'll be a legit opportunity to give the tank one more round of white mapping in some areas!

Also, I've always painted KV exhausts in the traditional way - grey or white base coat followed by rust washes. Turns out they're not made out of sheet metal, these exhausts are solid steel castings. This means they wouldn't corrode as much, so the best way to distinguish them from the rest of the tank, at least the one I could think of, is adding more chips and rust effects. To keep most of their original paint job visible, but to make it clear that these are heat-affected components.

As for the large, ugly chip on the side plate above the mud scraper, that's where the masking tape stripped off a large chunk of paint, primer, and the putty used for texturing! The die-cast hull wasn't the best idea at all, lol. Luckily, there are mud and snow effects that will blend this area with the rest of the
