Just acrylic paints because enamels would melt your styrofoam building!

My friends, as mentioned in the previous post, I'm tackling this building in sections - first painting the cinderblocks, then the plastered wall, next are some metal fixtures on the walls, then the windows, roof, etc.

So, to start things off, I painted the cinderblocks in different shades of grey. Then the cement was added with lightweight acrylic putty (wall repair putty) using a flat silicone brush. These two steps concluded the basic painting here.

The next step was making the plastered walls. I made these from thin sheets of styrofoam glued to the building. Acrylic putty for wood was stippled over the foam and after giving it about a minute to cure slightly, I smoothened the texture with a flat piece of styrene. The two putties used on this building are very different! One is a foam, and the other a paste. For example, the rough patches of concrete were sculpted from the lightweight putty.

Painting the plastered walls was so much fun! Well, it's fun unless the wall is huge! The faded paint was applied using the wet blending method - Buff towards the top, Pale Sand towards the middle of the wall, and a mixture of greys at the bottom. The acrylic putty acts as a magic carpet here - it creates awesome texture by absorbing the paint in different intensities based on the putty's thickness.

Weathering was carried out with acrylics again - very diluted streaks of Burnt Umber, Black Brown, Light Mud, etc. Cracks were once again painted with a fine brush using Black Brown, and the thin outline with Pale Sand and white.

Once I add a couple of metal details on the wall I'll wrap it into a video that will be focused on the basic construction and painting. The second part will cover the roof, windows, chimney, electric wiring, all the good stuff!

Pretty amazing stuff😊! You really get the picture when the tank is set beside the building. IT’S HUGE😳😳😳! Really looking forward to the next video

really cool how you've made this one, having the back of the tank as the main focus makes a nice change
