And it's not gonna be a tank! Today I finished the JS-2 diorama video (it's 36 minutes long!) and was wondering what to start next. I was torn between two ideas that I had while building the JS-2. Panzer Of The Lake diorama with a Pz IV, or a rotting VW Beetle in the forest.

Today I thought it would be the Panzer as it would be a simple and quick diorama, but the RFM staff car arrived in the afternoon... and when I saw the kit, I knew this was the next one.

I know it's a WW2 production vehicle, but based on my very amateurish observations, it will need just a couple of modifications and it should look like a regular post-war VW Beetle. I chose the RFM kit because it seems like the only model on the market that has the doors and hoods molded separately. Tamiya, Revell, Fujimi, etc. are all one solid shell.

This should be heaps of fun, and a quick project, eh? I'll start by milling out the fenders, front hood, and the roof, so I can add some indentations.

I must admit it is gonna be a great project. I love the topic "Dead nature" with abandoned cars, trucks, tanks or airplanes, left somewhere to rot. There were already some nice projects shown in AK Interactive books of Worn Art or Extreme Reality. I am looking forward to the first movie of the abandoned beetle :)

Glad you’re doing this - should be a good learning experience. I have an RFM Tiger I on the bench and like the build quality - inaccuracies aside with which I can live.
