My friends, this was one of the most enjoyable yet tedious diorama-related tasks ever! Oh boy, I could start making foam buildings instead of tanks, it's so much fun! 😁

Some elements were glued individually, such as the stone slabs at the foot of the house, the peeling plaster on the shed and some concrete touch-ups around windows and the attic wall. These were made by slicing the foam into very thin sheets on the thermo cutter and then cut with a knife, glued with PVA. They'll receive additional texture with wall repair plaster. Wooden beams were traditionally cut from 2mm balsa strips.

Now I need to make the roofs, wooden planks on the shed and the most boring task - windows and doors! French houses usually have flat, cement roof shingles. I was going to cut them from thin cardboard (box from the Jagdpanther), but now I'm thinking they could be easily made from foam, so I'll try that! 😁

I wanted to make the wooden features from styrene, but working with balsa is easier and more fun, so the remaining details will be most likely fabricated in the same fashion.

There are, of course, additional details such as electric wiring and a gutter, but I'm not sure if it won't be easier to add those once the building is painted and weathered. We'll see, for now it's roofing time!

PS. I considered skipping one week of uploading and making this whole house into a single, packed episode (construction and painting), but I can always split it into two episodes like with the barn. On the other hand, everything tied into one video would be a total banger. What do you think?

I have to agree with the many here, two videos are easier to take on board than one, the barn build was perfect as tutorials, one big video will be like trying to read the F.A.Q. Diorama book in one sitting! ....as for this so far...its mind blowing! I am much for this kind of diorama work....awesome!
