Hard stowage (Patreon)
Content
A bunch of updates today, my friends 😊
Starting with the stowage, I painted the "hard" bits, those that aren't tarps... I still need to add the rust tones, dustify them and add some streaking effects. Jerry cans were post-shaded with panzer grey + white and the ammo crate with olive green + dark yellow. The white cross on the water canister was simply airbrushed over chipping fluid, because masking would've been too tedious 😁 The triangular canister was brush painted to look somewhat like zinc-plated steel, just some random stippling with lighter and lighter shades of grey. MG cans are just painted with field grey. 88mm shells are left in their natural brass color, just "dirtied up" with MRP exhaust soot (one of them fell on the ground and the PE bottom part was swallowed by the floor monster).
More effects incoming before I start painting the tarps!
In other news, we just passed 1000 Patrons! Oh my gosh! When I was starting this page I was hoping if one day there will be 100 members, it'll be a small miracle. Thank you everyone so much!
Last but not least, I've been reading your comments on my subject choice question and there was a lot of valuable feedback! It looks like the most overwhelming consensus is that gundam and warhammer are kinda meh. I gotta agree that trying those would be too much of a drastic change, and who knows if I'd enjoy those projects from start to finish. On the other hand, Maschinen Krieger got some good support, and the absolute winners seem to be the Kondensator, rubber-armored Serbian T-34, destroyed vehicles, some modern subjects and oxide primer finish. Surprisingly, not much love for WW1. Regardless, I'll build a WW1 tank sooner or later, because although they look archaic and kinda boring, they're one of the best weathering subjects!
I'm very happy that everyone here seems to understand that if you're an armor modeler, armor is probably what you enjoy the most. Because under every Youtube video I see a lot of comments saying how I should finally build a plane, a battleship, some colossal diorama, a robot, etc. As if as a modeler and video maker, I was somehow obliged to build everything. But most creators on Youtube stick to what they enjoy and what they're best at, at least from what I've seen, and I'm glad to see that everyone here feels it the same way.
