... but it was a good idea! Presenting the Jagdpanther with active suspension will make the model, and the whole scene, more dynamic in my opinion. Wheels are, as usual on these German subjects, superglued together into one sub-assembly. I'm still not sure about the scenery, but all I need for now is that one elevated section of styrofoam because the running gear was modeled around that. It can be easily placed into the diorama later down the road and trimmed (or expanded) to the desired shape.
Tracks are from Masterclub and they were really pleasant to work with. Almost no clean-up was needed, just a few guide horns had to be reopened with tweezers. Resin pins are easy to work with and the overall process was more enjoyable than working with Friuls 😊
The resin figure is from Panzer Art and the details are out of this world. Their figures are 3D modeled, printed, cleaned-up and cast in resin, so the increased level of detail is somewhat expected, but it really blew me away. This figure fits the JP without any issues despite being designed for a StuG III, but the other one won't fit, his legs are spread too wide 😁 I might try some surgery or maybe soften the resin in hot water and squeeze them together a bit, or I'll just put a standing commader into the hatch.
Most of the "boring" stuff is done at this point and I can start adding plastic details followed by photo etch! But maybe I should make a video about Zimmerit first, right? 😁 I'll see when I get to it, the construction is too much fun at the moment.
