Ma friens, this was one of the slowest tasks I ever attempted. Brush painted chipping, step aside!

I didn't have much success with the AK foliage from a few posts ago. I simply wasn't able to stretch the twines and achieve a satisfying result, but my latest order of modelling supplies contained "Dense Shrubbery" which I've thrown in for good measure as it could get handy at some point (I'm basically collecting various diorama and foliage products every time I order something). I'll post a picture of the product tomorrow. 😊

These have much better texture, they're basically plastic stalks covered with static grass  sprinkled with tiny leaves. They just have to be cut into small clumps of vegetation and glued to the tree. But a tree like this requires several hundreds of them and the application feels very clumsy!

But hey, it's all in place. I'm not 100% satisfied with the result as it doesn't fit my definition of a realistic miniature tree, but it's the best I can do at the moment, so at least that's comforting :)

It's not finished yet. I'll cut off the excess "grass" that's sticking out and ruining the texture and it also needs some extra paint. Probably a few random washes of green and dark brown for more definition and color variation, so hopefully that won't take another entire day! 🤪
