My friends, some progress has been made. The tank seems empty but I'm actually running out of parts on the sprues! 😁 Partially because there's not too many of them and partially because some are gonna be missing, such as all external fuel tanks except one, all storage boxes except one, also the wading stack on the turret will be missing, etc.

At this first stage I kinda want to assemble the whole model out of the box and then focus on the handmade stuff. I'll probably start with rebar cages because that's what we're all hyped up for, right? And then, depending on how it looks, I'll add some missing details here and there. It's not going to be a super-detailed build though, just a fun relaxing project. So far it's been just that, mainly thanks to modern technologies for the future!

As everyone who built a T-55 knows, the most annoying detail is the headlight cage. My friend from Offset models chimed in to save the day and provided me with his 3D printed cage! The only difficult part is removing it from the supports, but other than that it's a very easy to use replacement. I wish the shape was more rounded like we see most of the time, but then again, those cages tend to be all sizes and shapes, so I'm more than happy to have this detail out of the way :)

You are not missing a trick in creating an interesting build. I like all the little details, that missing bolt on the rear plate, the messed up fenders and all the subtle welds and texture. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you have in store. Especially how you tackle the many wire hold downs and grab irons on the turret. Have fun.
