It's gotten muddy! (Patreon)

My friends, it was a busy weekend and it hindered my progress a little bit. But despite that I spent the entire Saturday creating the various mud effects - two to be more specific, out of the 3 on this model (dry, damp and wet mud).

Of course I again have sheep skin on my fingers (I don't know what's the correct term in English 😁) because I had a glove on my hand for the entire day lol.

The lower hull is now completely finished and I can focus on the upper surfaces 😊It might feel weird to have a completely weathered running gear while the rest of the tank is pretty much untouched, well except the chipping of course. But it's probably the post-shading which makes it look not so weird 😁To cut a long story short, Friday was about dry mud tones, then waiting for them to dry, Saturday was all about damp and wet mud, Sunday was about all the other chores and some long overdue rest time, and today was video editing! Tomorrow I'm continuing with textured pre-dusting on the upper surfaces, I guess? And then some detail painting. I'm totally pushing the pin washes back as far as I can for no real reason 😆Probably for that moment when they're finally applied and everything clicks together. 

And some quick facts: the damp mud was done with Ammo Loose Ground. I really like this color because it has just the right amount of brown and grey mixed in. I added VMS Pigment Texture when I was stippling it on the tracks. The wet sloppy mud is a mixture of Loose Ground, dark brown wash and Wet Effects - the usual dirty water mixture of mine, but this time less translucent. The diorama will have a lot of wet ground and some puddles (hopefully!) so this will fit in nicely.
