My friends, today I learned something very important. You know how back in one of the final Jagdtiger episodes I talked about hitting a point when you don't know what to add, what's missing and you just spend more time staring at the model and overthinking stuff? Yeah, I'm at that stage right now and I just realized... it's that stage when the model doesn't need anything, and all you do has a very low impact on the overall impression. So as far as there are no obvious mistakes that need fixing, it's not worth overthinking it! At least that's how I feel about it right now.

So what it means with this model is that I'm going to finish the second mine roller, finish the mud splashes on the front of the vehicle and the weathering will be done. The upper surfaces, like the roof etc, I don't think they need any extra earth effects, the pre-weathering kinda does the job just fine there. I might add a plastic canister for a splash of color and maybe a few stains here and there, but nothing significant.

It's kinda the thing which never happens to me with small scale models and quick projects... and somehow they always turn out just fine. With larger models, I think it's the idea of all that potential that's there, but in the end, it doesn't matter that much if you add 5 extra mud streaks on a side skirt or whatever. Maybe I'm overthinking the idea of overthinking 😂

The point is, I don't feel like there's too much to add at this stage and it's time to slowly wrap things up and move on to a new project!

So maybe a slight change of topic. Used the VMS track blackening solution on a set of KV-2s and followed their instructions. Good result so far up to burnishing stage. They must have listened to you as the results are almost identical to the video tutorial. Lesson: RTFM and you’ll be just fine!!

Sometimes addition through subtraction is the best way.

Haha, the funny thing is I achieved the result shown in my videos by not following their instructions 😆
