My friends, today I kicked the propeller, as we say here, and done a ton of work 🥱

Rust tones done all around the tank, now it looks like proper metal, but of course, as usual, a lot of them are going to get toned down with earth effects.

Shell impacts are also painted, first the crater was brushed with a medium grey acrylic, the outside with a black brown oil paint, and then chipping was added around it followed by rust washes.

Tow cables and other metal details are also done, same procedure as usual - medium grey base coat followed by rust washes.

Exhaust were done in an extra simple way, as they're quite small, nothing fancy was necessary - the base is the Ammo white primer (dark yellow coat on the lower half), followed by some reverse VMS chipping and black brown Vallejo paint applied with a sponge on the pipe, finished off with an overall rust wash and some tiny, but dense, rusty speckling.

Periscopes are also done, just a grey coat and some enamel gloss on the glass parts, and wooden handles are also finished. Here it was the same ordeal as usual - base coat of Iraqi Sand and Old Wood, followed by the same colors but watered down and brushed randomly on top, finished by a dark brown oil paint blended as a fake shadow.

Fire extinguisher is also ready, again a grey coat with a cropped down Alliance Modelworks decal - same as I did on the Tiger, those decals are far too large for 1/35th models, so they need to be trimmed.

I hoped the model would be ready for weathering today, but I still need to finish the spare tracks, some subtle chipping on the weld beads, and tail lights on the rear plate. Well, I'll deal with those tomorrow and drop you another update!

Also, some fantastic goodies arrived today which will transform the content quality to a much, much higher level, but I'll show you those tomorrow 😁😁😁

I looked at the photos and how many thousands of tiny scratches and scrapes, the patience to go over many more times with different colors. the demonstration that the final result is the sum of the whole and that every detail has the same importance .... as for us human beings we are all indispensable in a "solidarity collaboration"

Yup, patience and tons of work, that's chipping 😁 We'll explore an alternative, more efficient method on the next model, hopefully it'll work out!
