So, as you can tell, I've been entertaining myself over the past couple of nights with 3D modelling. Modelling and printing in 3D is something I always dreamed about but always considered  unreal, because I simply don't have the time to learn how to operate a dedicated 3D software. A friend of mine who's a 3D printing enthusiast showed me this browser-based software called Onshape which is extremely easy to learn and here are some of my first models.

Now of course as you're probably guessing I didn't make those up, and you're right, these are parts for a specific model, which I don't have, but I've been playing around with the idea of building it for some time. I'm still not decided on it, because it would be HUGE and would also take some time, and I'm not quite sure if I want to bother you, and my Youtube followers with it for several months. What I can tell is that it would be something new... detailing a massive model with modern technologies, and combining digital and analog 3D modelling sounds pretty exciting to me.

The coolest thing about these 3D models is that some of them only take about 30 minutes to model, while if I were trying to build them from scratch, they would never look half as good and it would take HOURS (I remember spending an entire afternoon scratchbuilding a pair of some stupid locking clasps on an IDF Nagmachon).

I mean, I don't even have a printer yet 😄 But of course I'd go for a resin printer like the Anycubic Photon or maybe even something better. Like I said, I'm just tossing these ideas around in my head.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you be willing to endure such a project?

Oh and I almost forgot, the model in question is the 1/35th scale 2A3 Kondensator from Trumpeter 😅
