🌈 10 Years ✨ (Patreon)

Today is Hyper’s 10th birthday. It’s kinda surreal that I’ve had this girl for 10 years already. She means so much to me, I wouldn’t trade her for the world. 

I was in my first year of high school when I made her, I’d only just started. I had already been drawing long before this, but after seeing youtubers create animal versions of themselves, I really wanted one too! The design on the left, was her very first design. She didn’t have this design for long, and it soon morphed into the design on the far right. She had many different designs over the years, but these are the most ‘prominent ones’. 

Some fun things about her design that I remember - her blue eye spot! It became the weird shape it is simply because I couldn’t figure out how to fit a normal circle around her eye, so it would always become weird shapes. The shape it is now just kinda stuck! She has two tails because I was really into Sonic as a kid, and the fact Tails had two tails was just so cool to me, I gave Hyper two tails later down the line too! She has ear tufts because I remember one of my favourite artists at the time had a character with ear tufts, and I’d never seen those on a character before - I just thought they were cute!

I wanted to do something really special for today, but I’ve been in a lot of pain since I woke up, and with everything that’s happened lately my head still hasn’t been 100%, but overall, I think this is all I really needed to do. Having a character for 10 years is so insane to me, and I’ve been really excited for this birthday for a long time. Happy birthday Hyper, and thank you for all the opportunities you helped give me. I wouldn’t have the job I do, or a lot of the friends I have if it wasn’t for this little grey and blue dog. She started it all for me. She’s very special.
