I know it's annoying that it seems like all effort to save Ace was thrown out after this, but it is needed for Luffy's growth. Oda has avoided killing characters for so long, people started thinking he would never kill off characters, but he surprised us this arc. You might not like this death right now, but eventually you will appreciate it what it did for the story imo.

This was the first time in One Piece where I've genuinely felt defeated. Honestly, I think most of my anger came from the thought that not only did we go through all of that for it to end that way, but also just the idea that we won't see more of Ace and his potential. I do look forward to seeing how this affects everyone though!
