To me the moment with Gus and Mike was Gus seeing a little bit of hate in his eyes and applying the same ethos as Don Eladio on it. A little bit is okay; he's a boss/bad person all the same.

Also the showrunners after this episode stated they really liked the moment with Mike and Nacho's pops as it was the one time he didn't have the last word of have the presumption of wisdom on his side. That's also why I loved it in the moment as someone who likes Mike; but also argued against those apologizing for his flaws and wilfull descent into the game. He has his rationalizations just like Jimmy but in the end Nacho's pops is someone who stood on conviction and coped healthily with loss. By the end of Gus's scene I thought that we were ending the prequel timeline finally so I was soaking in every character moment as if it was our last, even with Rich. Having his potential last moment he his trademark affable politeness/correcting himself on Jimmy's name change and just genuine decency about Howard's end/addiction in general. The fandom loves Rich and Cliff.
