I thought Forever Yorozuya won't get to me again since I've watched it so many times already through out all these years but seeing your reaction makes me go teary again😭 thank you for giving all the characters love😭I felt like reexperiencing 2013 all over again.

to this day this movie has a special place in my heart. honestly if it did truly end here i would have been satisfied but. the fact it just gets better from here is insane to think about

as for how they decided to relaunch the anime series again, according to Fujita director/producer (yep it's that poor producer whose divorce got announced to the whole country via evening anime television), it really was because this particular movie was too successful to just be like 'ok that's a wrap'. They simply earned tooo much money which convinced the sponsor and the broadcaster they should just go on once they got enough manga stock again. but in other words, if the movie was a flop, the rest of the anime might have not happened (Or at least won't be happening that quickly). After the movie, Team Anime Gintama made a special episode for Jump Festa'15 (it's like Jump's own comic con) in 2014 fall , saying they are only reviving for just one episode for this event for the fans ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1B7T-PSaIo ←you can watch it here btw if you are interested, and the anime team was being very savage and sarcastic as hell to choose this one particular story to animate, knowing people from the top are here for the money post movie😂), and people were kinda feeling between 'maybe the next season is coming?' 'ok, seems like it really is just a one time thing'. but thankfully this time they didn't drag the ambiguity that long: They officially announced that the anime is coming back right on Jump Festa's gintama stage that year and Gintama anime came back 5 months later (2015 April). That's about all of what I can remember.
