I remember doing exactly what Kammy is doing, as a kid I used to tromp around in my dad's army boots all the time, and his web netted helmet.  the helmet always smelt of diesel and the boots of kiwi polish.  that polish smell catapults me back into that mindset instantly.  Weird how smells can do that huh?
