I learnt something drawing this page.  See when my dad was in the army our local base shop was called the NAAFI....well every base we lived on the shop was called the NAAFI  I was going to use this term in this comic page but turns out most of the NAAFI operating shops and services arent really UK based any more so they're not really a thing in the UK more other places now, so the term would be outdated and you can guarantee someone would point that out to me hahaha.

Army base life was weird as a kid.  Like you cant really roam off base so I guess as a result my parents were like...Yeah go out do what you want, dont want to see you until lunch time, even from a crazy early age like 5-6 I was allowed to leave the house on my own (or usually with a younger sister or two in tow) and we'd beable to just wander around on base and do our own thing.  We were never challenged, no adult thought to intervene.  The stuff we got up to that my parents never found out about...we were pretty much feral.

It did mean that it would be hours before a parent would realise we were missing or something.  I remember taking my sister Lisa and a next door neighbours kid (they were both 4) out to try and find a shooting star I had seen falling the night before.  It looked like it fell behind teh woods near my house so we went looking and got hopelessly lost in the woods.  I was the eldest (about 6) so i was in charge, but we were lost like alll day.  Eventually we climbing into a field and it had these big bulls in it so we tried to feed them grass, it was at that point i suddenly found myself thrown over the shoulder of my dad and he was running.  Me over his shoulder and the two younger kids under each arm.  We'd been utterly unaware that a bull had been charging at us from across the other side of the field, and my parents had organised a search party to find us and had basically found us right at the right time I guess.

Maaan the spanking I got for that little escapade.....

Oh yeah...comic page.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/cf79fo3odefb1iq/pg296.png?dl=0

Ahh. Star is beginning to think. All she needs to do is remain calm, and keep thinking of a way out. She is smarter than him, that’s a definite (he used BLACKMAIL as a medium for petty revenge), she will figure something out.

That she will but will she before she returns to work or will she have to endure a little more

One thing that is somewhat anxiety reducing is that at least for the time being Star is relatively safe. I mean it's gross that he is using something so personal (and sexual) against her, especially when she only recently got to indulge in that part of herself in a safe and healthy space, but this isn't insurmountable for her. Things will likely get worse for her before it's better, but she can get through this.

The most important thing is to remember the conversations star had with Manda and Martin. It may seem shitty now, but this is a story about acceptance and learning to be who you are. Sometimes their are road blocks, but at the end of the day their are people who care and their is support.

We didn't live on base, but army kid life sure was weird!
