Really enjoyed the pod! With these game series that are multiple entries long (I'm a huge fan of the Trails series), I would argue the best place to start is always at the beginning. However, as that is usually a heavy time investment, either the first entry of that arc or just the most recent prior entry is usually good enough. But the more experience you have with the characters, the more you'll get out of the new games.

Great podcast. I know this is totally unrealistic but I will always recommend starting with Yakuza 1 from the PS2 up until now - seeing Kamurocho evolve over console generations is a truly amazing and unique experience unlike anything else in games! That city is its own main character of this beautiful series.
