what's your least favorite thing about your favorite game, and/or your favorite thing about your least favorite game?

Greetings MinnMaxers. How is Elden Ring so good? Since playing Elden Ring last year I have been searching for that feeling of adventure and discovery like a depressed drug addict. Tears of the Kingdom is really close but just not hitting the same highs for me. Will I ever get that feeling again?

Hi CLCs! Great show, like always. With the summer game announcement season underway, I'm really looking forward to new game announcements. I've been thinking about indie games a lot and was wondering if any of you would be interested in a subscription pass for something like itchio or even a "Devolver Digital Pass". Although subscriptions are starting to play out, I think I'd really appreciate a $5 pass for a bunch of indie games. What say you?

Lego 2K drive is gross…but I also love building a crazy car and blasting around the world map with it. Underneath there are so many things that point to the devs caring about the game and the amazing things about the previous lego car titles (racers, racers 2, even lego indiana jones 2). But did they have to make it “pay to build” with certain key bricks locked behind a paywall.

Why do I STILL feel resentment about camp snoopy becoming nickelodeon universe? I never cared THAT much about the peanuts IP, and I watched tons and tons of nick as a kid, so I should be fine with it, especially after all these years. Is this just me being an old man shaking my fist at a cloud? Any other minnesotans join me in the weird irrational anger? (To be clear, I don't care that much, but I do catch myself being a bit miffed about it when it comes up)

Hello good folks of MinnMax! So Sony essentially revealed what is a Wii-U gamepad for the PS5 with Project Q, except without the actual dual screen capabilities and a reliant need of an internet connection. Do we dare admit that the Wii-U was actually a cool console just with a bad name that failed to hit its full potential? Would you be interested in the return of a two-screen system if it revitalized the likes of a second screen for inventory management, maps, and interesting asymmetric gameplay experiences?

I kind of like bad voice acting. Maybe it's just nostalgia for the PS1/PS2 era I associate it with, but I think there's also just an endearing campiness about it sometimes. Is this unhealthy?

Good day, cohorts. I’ve been playing Tears of the Kingdom for about 50 hours now, & I honestly think it’s approaching the best game I’ve ever played. Trying to not be hyperbolic, I settled myself on considering it for my top 5 of all time once I beat it. My favorite games on that list are formative games that have shaped me overall, such as Silent Hill 2. My question is: for a lifelong gamer, do you think that a great gaming experience can surpass one that made you fall in love with video games in the first place?

Hey gang! Ben, as a fellow fan of Mary Tyler Moore, I'd love to get your brief thoughts on the "Being Mary Tyler Moore" documentary on Max.

Hello! While not limited to fighting games, fighting games like Street Fighter in general are notorious for having iterative version releases with each subsequent release which comprise of all of the DLC up to that point. In such cases are you the type of person that buys the vanilla version immediately on release and purchase the DLC/season passes as they come out or would you wait several years for the "Ultimate Championship Tatsumaki Senpukyaku" edition to release that includes all of the DLC on disc (or as a downloadable code)?

Greetings Fellow Cohorts. Were you aware that now with the DLC of Forspoken being out, one of the updates they did makes it so the flying cats you collect constantly hovers and accompanies and helps you sometimes collect items? Does the notion of a flying cat companion change anyone's desire to play the game? Yes, it does occassionally meow and will confuse your cat. There are an insane amount of flying cats in this game.

Hi team. Street Fighter 6 reviews are out and, currently, it's one of the very best reviewed games of the year. What are the chances of seeing SF6 being nominated or, dare I say, win the GOTY award, as opposed to being relegated solely to the Best Fighting Game category as usual? Since The Game Awards' inception, the only fighting game to make an appearance in that category (or any other category than Best Fighting Game I think) is Smash. I could see Mortal Kombat being nominated for best storytelling, or Guilty Gear for graphics/art direction or music for example, but traditional fighting games have so far only competed with themselves. Why do you think that is?

Salutations, CLCs. How have the last 5 years changed the way you view and evaluate games?

Hey Benn and Friennds, Speed-running is a weird term right? Outside of gaming it must sound really peculiar, no one says “this weekend I’m going far-hiking and might wet-swim”.

I think landing a critical hit from across the map is the best feeling thing to do in an FPS. What is the fighting game equivalent to landing a nice shot in an FPS? For me, I’ll never get tired of anti airing a jump in with an uppercut. It’s the epitome of practice makes perfect. It also feels bad when someone does it to me. But the respect for them pulling it off is always there, eventually.

Street fighter has been around for a long time and never has had a wacky spin off. What kind of game would you want to take these mighty fighters and put them out of their normal street fighting element. Personally, I'd opt for a Mario party-esque game. Building on the car smash bonus stage from street fighter 2 I think there could be lots of fun making these big hulking play a silly board game.

Hey Ben, I will miss you when you're gone on maternity leave. Will you miss me?
