Were you brought up to say "please" and do you still use it when asking for something or does it feel too formal now? Interesting piece on the topic https://www.theatlantic.com/family/archive/2023/03/polite-words-is-please-rude/673397/

Hello MinnMax! What is your best gaming memory involving cheat codes or a GameShark?

Joe Dean

Hey if you could fuse or ultrahand things, like Link can in ToTK, what stupid thing would you just have to make?

Hello Minnmax, I have been living in US for last 5 years but because of some sad turn of events I have to leave the US permanently in next month so. For practical reasons, I need to leave behind most things except what I can carry in the plane. Thing that particularly hurt me most are my PS5, gaming PC, Oculus, Books. I know these material things are replaceable but I am devastated. Is it normal to get attached to these things? How best to deal with this?

Hey MinnMaxers! When you finish a piece of media like a game, show or movie, do you let the credits roll? Out of respect for the medium and developers I always let the credits roll once I’ve finished a game, but I’ve noticed I don’t do this for movies or television. I know I should, but I just don’t feel compelled to in the same way. How do y’all handle credits of the various mediums you enjoy?

Hope everyone is doing well. With the closure of the eshop, one of the last purchases I made was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers Of Sky. It's my first time I've played it and the pixel art is beautiful. Do think we will ever see another true pixel art Pokemon or major Nintendo release?

Hey gang, I've been messing around with all the Nintendo Switch Online systems to try and build up my gaming historical knowledge. I'm going to be bold and say most GBA/Gamecube onward games hold up pretty well, whereas in the generations previous there are just a few diamonds in the rough. Do you think that this shows that in the past 20 years innovation has been lacking compared to the previous 20, as many early 2000s games still align with 2023 sensibilities?

Hello tasty M&Ms, A couple weeks ago on the Game Informer Show Kyle and Marcus were discussing Metroidvanias and what would be a better name for the genre. I don't have a good name suggestion other than the "Ooohhh, I need to get back to that!" genre. What I want to ask instead is what do you think is going on in our brains when we love seeing locked doors or treasure chests that we can't reach yet. It seems like a nice cheap way for a developer to add depth to a game by making us backtrack through levels, but I still love it just the same. I'm playing through Chained Echos right now and it's shoving stuff in front of my face constantly I can't access yet and It's great. Is there something deep about the human condition going on?

I recently visited the Zenkoji Buddhist temple in Japan. Here one can walk along a nearly pitch black corridor in order to stimulate reflection and find enlightenment. In this dark and spiritual place, a thought came to me, “When your lost in the darkness, look for the light….” :| To the crew, has your video-game-infected brain ever made a video game reference at an interesting or perhaps inappropriate time?

Ahoy! I want to known one thing - when you hear the word "cutscene", what's the first thing that pops in your mind? For me, it's absolutely the ballroom scene from Final Fantasy VIII

Greetings MinnMax Crew, Do you have any pet peeves regarding any small sayings, quips or topics of discussion that drive you up the wall whenever you hear somebody mention them? What adages drive you nuts? Please discuss! Cheers and all the best, ~ Wes

don't let Nintendo get away with not talking about the eshop closure! got any favorites / fond memories of 3ds/wiiu games that haven't been ported forward (in addition to A Link Between Worlds and the Zelda HD remakes)
