Hanson, I hope you didn't give up on visiting Atreus's wolves Speki and Svanna. This time there WAS optional dialogue both times you had the chance to visit them with Atreus. The scene where he says goodbye to them was pretty sweet. And you learn that Svanna peed inside the house once.

My theory having not finished the game is that Kratos enters the green crack and survives, because of the reactions to him having survived in the light of Alfheim, sure he can handle it without being burning like Odin.

I'd like to highlight a piece of ambient dialogue that I thought was absolutely brilliant and sums up the combat in this game perfectly. Atreus says to Kratos: "Three legendary weapons... Do you have a favourite, Father?" To which Kratos replies: "No. They are tools. For specific tasks. A preference would be meaningless." Which I think is the perfect answer, and a mentality I strive to maintain as a player. Atreus then says: "I like the Axe." And Kratos replies: "I too like the Axe." And it's like, yeah, that is also a perfect answer.

I hoarded upgrade materials until the end of the game because I couldn’t commit to a set of armor, relics, enchantments, etc. What were your end game builds?

Firstly the writing in this game was immense. I really liked the through line on the riddle Brok gave Mimir. “What gets bigger the more you take away”. If you do the side quest for Broks funeral you get a poignant pay off for that.. After Sindri leaves without talking to Kratos. Mimir answers it with”A hole”.What was one of your favourite little line/ clever piece of writing.

I just finished the Heimdall fight but wanted to submit something as I likely won't finish in time. I thought for sure that Kratos wouldn't be the one to kill Heimdall and that's where the prophecy might start to diverge. I'm surprised this was the venue for the Heimdall encounter. It wasn't clear to me if he was just there guarding Freyr. Did you all expect that for the Heimdall showdown?

I cried when fenrir died and I cried when atreus/loki brought him back. It was so great seeing him be this giant tame wolf.

I was a little disappointed in the thor arc, it seemed to basic to just make him an alcoholic father after trying to make him the biggest badass in the Norse mythology.I loved the writing throughout the whole game but this was a weak point

He was never the biggest badass per se, just the strongest.but really just a grown child that never needed to change base on his physical presence. Plus he was written to be the opposite of kratos on many respects. Listen to the director speak on in the Kinda Funny, Beyond! Or Gamespot After Dark spoilercasts

Stuck with guiding light from the earliest instance i could get it until the final battle where input the fate changer armor to match freya and Atreus…plus they made it slightly easier to upgrade to a level beyond guiding light making it slightly better offensive

I just went through most of the game without realizing I can upgrade my runic attacks with XP by going into the weapon menu and then hitting R1 to select the upgrades on each runic attack. I’m nearly done with the game now and have had all my runic attacks on level 1 this whole time. I must have forgotten that tutorial amongst all the other menu tutorials from early on in the game. I think you guys mentioned this a bit in the last episode of deepest dive, but I do think all the random upgrade/crafting/menu clutter is my biggest complaint in this otherwise amazing game.

When you’ve thrown your axe away and go to a smithing station, if you select to change your axe, it flies into your hand and you feel it in the controller. Cool touch

This game is so good that I was late picking up my son from daycare because I lost track of time while playing. Ironic?

Last comment from me: just finished the game, and I loved it overall but the ending did leave me a little bit flat. Had some great moments but the big marvel style ragnarok fight was a bit too predictable, and things ended a little too cleanly and quickly. Besides Brok I didn’t have too many gut wrenching or overwhelming emptional moments in the final act, although the big Tyr plot twist was well done. The Thor/Odin final fights were good but a bit stock-standard boss fights by that point and I was hoping for something we haven’t seen before from them. And most of all, I wanted to see inside the green crack!!! What the heck is in there!?!
