Every year I try and fail to complete costume quest 1. Is costume quest the best Halloween themed game of all time?

Dear Ben and Company, I picked up NBA2k23 after not seriously playing a basketball game since the Dreamcast. I had heard stories of microtransactions and loot boxes and I had low expectations as a whole, but actually playing it still surprised me. There are multiple forms of gambling in the convoluted MyTEAM mode, MyCAREER is purposefully inefficient and obtuse, and sadly, overall the game is just not very fun for me. This is easily my biggest disappointment in games; what is yours?

Hey gang! I really enjoyed the Overwatch 2 talk on this week’s Party Chat. One thing that was not mentioned is Activision Blizzard potentially cutting off a large portion of players thanks to their SMS Protect feature. This feature is now required for all Overwatch 2 players regardless of PC or console. The problem is their SMS Protect feature does not work with several cell service providers, like Boost Mobile, Metro PCS, and even one of the larger providers, Cricket Wireless. These services are considered “pre-paid” and Blizzard won’t accept your phone number for SMS Protect because of it. As a Cricket Wireless customer myself, I find it ridiculous that my phone is good enough to let me do my online financial banking (and all other 2FA), but apparently isn’t good enough to play Overwatch 2. Thanks and have a great weekend!

Hey team MinnMax, Following up on last week's discussion of "which video game song would get everyone on the dance floor at a wedding", I just wanted to share that my wedding was last weekend and we set the ceremony procession to Jessie's Theme from FFVII Remake. Turns out you can do whatever you want and people are still just excited to be at a wedding.

Hey Benn and Friennds, Who is the most inspirational person you’ve heard speak? And how did it change you?

Hey there MinnMax crew! When you heat something up in the microwave for one minute, do you type 6-0, START or do you type 1-0-0, START? Both options count down to 59 seconds but typing 60, START is one less keystrokes so you technically get your food a little bit quicker!

JeffM’s owl mug(it’s an owl, right?) first looked like a mug with pecs and abs. I don’t know….does anyone else see it?

Hey MinnMaxers, super simple question; what is the best trailer ever?

Hello there! Which property or setting has the most untapped potential in the games medium? Personally TMNT’s ‘The Last Ronin” would be great. Also, the Steam Punk aesthetic in The Order: 1886 had such a distinct and atmospheric setting that I feel has more to offer.

Hi Benny Hanson's Sushi and Japanese Steakhouse, Not sure if any of the MinnMax crew watched the latest Pokemon Scarlet/Violet trailer today, but I really have to get off my chest how technically out-of-date the game looks. To preface, I'm very excited for this new Pokemon game. The franchise finally going full open-world is something I've been waiting for since the announcement of the Switch, and between the new quality of life features, three-pronged main questline, and new ways to interact with your Pokemon, I really think this will stand as the best Pokemon game since HeartGold/SoulSilver. But whoo doggy if it doesn't look like the ugliest AAA game I've seen in my life. From sparse bushes popping in directly in front of your player character, to tiny 256x256 textures being repeated on the sides of massive cliff faces, to Sunflora running around at a single frame per second, to zero blending done between where the ground and mountains meet in most places, to the horrendously bare bones battle UI; this game is just plain ugly. And I get it's on the Switch. I get that this is incredibly outdated hardware. But to me none of that is an excuse. It's the most profitable media franchise's premier title. Arguably the biggest system seller for the Switch, full-stop. And it's the worst looking game of Nintendo's first-party AAA line up. Xenoblade Chronicles DE/2/3, Breath of the Wild, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Mario Odyssey; they all eat Pokemon's lunch visually, and it really feels like a game that looks this embarrassing should be called out for it by everyone at all times. And it kinda feels like it isn't. What do you and the panel think? Is it nuts to be preoccupied with how ugly this new Pokemon game looks? Does it fairly get enough crud for how technically inferior it is to basically all of its contemporaries? Would love to hear your input. Sorry for the crazy long rant, and please feel free to cut out as much from this post if you decide you want to use this question in today's podcast. All the best, Richard
