Hello MinnMax with two N's! Though we're a couple of days away from it, congratulations on the two year anniversary! It's definitely something to "honk your own toot" about so you should feel proud of yourselves. Seeing as how "two" is such an important aspect of MinnMax's identity and to commemorate the occasion I have a fun little activity for you. I will provide a list of topics and the panel will have to discuss, "What is the second best version of [blank]?" * Who is the second best Nintendo villain? * What is the second best season or holiday of the year? * What is the second best direct game sequel? For example, you could say Metal Gear Solid 2 but not Metal Gear Solid 3. That said, I will allow Hanson to have some leeway seeing as how Metal Gear Solid is technically a sequel to the Metal Gear duology. * What is the second best/memorable segment that you were a part of at MinnMax? * What is the second best city of the Twin Cities? * What is the second best podcast about games, friends and/or getting better? * Not to tip your hand, but at this point what do you consider to be the second best game released in 2021?

What do you think is more beneficial to a game's review score? Being rushed to beat it and write a review or having more than enough time to beat it, explore all the features thoroughly, and then write a review over the course of a few days. I don't mean which of these you prefer as a reviewer, I mean which do you think leads to a better gaming score? I know writers almost never get ample time for a review.

In Metroid Dread, you can move to a different area by using a train, elevator, or teleportal (TP). These all take about the same time to load you there. If there were TP around the world, would you use them regularly to get around? Let's say that it would take the same amount of time to get to a place by TP if you were to walk, drive, or fly there. Your body would glow and float until you got there. What are the benefits? There are no possible dangers that would happen if you were to walk, drive, or fly. The downsides? It might be boring and you can't stop until you're there. Have fun. Bye.

Hey CLCs, congrats on the two year anniversary. I can't believe it's already been that long. Time isn't real. Anyway, speaking of time; how long do you let a game you swear you've been meaning to get to, but somehow never have the time or motivation to play, sit on your backlog before you cut your losses and purge it from your memory? Something, something JeffM Red Dead 2.

Hi, long time, first time. My question is for Sarah. When can we expect to have a poggers only stream or at least a stream with a constant pog cam? Thanks! I'll take my question off the air.

Hi all, love what you're doing, congrats on the two year anniversary. I'm excited to see what comes next. My question is what do you think is the least appreciated/most overlooked/least loved game that is in fact among the most influential? Some examples that spring to mind for me: we often talk about Halo in shooters but don't give a lot of due to Battlefield 1942 for its introduction of large maps, classes and focus on co-op. World of Warcraft is often cited when considering MMOs but what about Second Life? Gears of War popularised the modern cover shooter mechanics but it was games like Time Crisis and Winback that truly innovated. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hello, MinnMax! I'm just wrapping up my playthrough of Final Fantasy IX. I plan on playing through every numbered game in the series. So far I've played through 1-9, 14, and 15. It got me thinking: What series have you played the most games from?

Hi lovely Cohorts. Is it just me or is the honeymoon phase for Swery and maybe also Suda over? I don‘t see any real hype for The Good life, reviews are mostly negative (even from reviewers who liked Deadly Premonition). Deadly Premonition 2 came and went, No More Heroes 3 seemingly too. What‘s the reason? Can‘t even fans handle the technical issues and gameplay flaws anymore in a time full of brillant, imaginative games from Indie and AAA studios (Psychonauts, It Takes Two…)?

Hello Cohorts. My daughter just celebrated her fourth birthday, and we got her a Barbie toy she had been asking for all year. When she opened it, she screamed and yelled “ITS THE BARBIE TOY I’VE BEEN WANTING!” It was one of the best feelings I’ve had as a parent. So my question is, what’s a toy or gift that you got as a child, that made you scream at the top of your lungs because of how excited you were?

Just a thought: if a game like Metroid Dread that is very polished but doesn’t do much new can’t be a GOTY contender, then a game like The Good Life that tries a lot to mixed results should be a serious contender. I think everyone knows this isn’t the case, but the argument keeps coming up that games that don’t innovate much should be penalized.

I have been playing Yakuza Like a Dragon lately and really loving it. It is the first time I have put more than a couple hours into a JRPG without getting burned out. I think it's a combination of a well written story with gameplay that is engaging without being too hard. What games from genres you don't normally enjoy have broken through for you? Did any of them make you a permanent convert to that genre or were they a one-time thing?

Hello Cohorts! So we're all familiar with the age-old time honored question of "what video game world would you most want to live in?" Well how about what video game world would you want to live in knowing that you would have to listen to that game's soundtrack in all relevant areas? For example, choose Super Mario Sunshine? Then all day as you go about your business you will be hearing the Isle Delfino theme. Zelda Ocarina of Time? Each time you're in a house you hear the little house jingle that plays indoors. The only exception is silence while you sleep. Love the show, and keep up the good work!
